Pride and Joy

Boys like to brag about their dads.

You know what I mean.

You’ve got your timeless classics such as:

“My Dad is smarter than your Dad.”

or

“My Dad can beat up your Dad”

or

“My Dad can wrestle wild platypus way better than your Dad!”

I like to think that my kids are special when it comes to traditional concepts

with a modern (some would say…bonkers) twist.

So…very special.

On that note let’s revisit a conversation between three boys.

Boy#1: “My Dad has a new car!”

Boy #2: “My Dad can beat ANY video game! Any video game in the whole galaxy!“

Knox: “My Dad is….is… My Dad is GIANT!“

Happy Simon Day!

On April the 15th we celebrated our

7th Annual Simon Day.

“Make me a Lego Head cake Mom! And, please put my full name on it.

That’s Simon Rex Eagar:

S-I-M-O-N   R-E-X   E-A-G-A-R.

Did you get all that?”

His wish (as usual) is my command.

His birthday spoils were plenty as were his animated smiles and genuine exuberance for the joyous event.

In fact, from the moment he joined the Human Race Simon has taught us through his beaming smiles that one can never be too gracious or too enthusiastic about life.

We thought we knew happiness until we first saw him smile. Even on his first birthday this little blue-eyed charmer accepted each gift with an

“Ooh! Ahhh!”

followed by a volley of hugs and kisses to the gift giver.

Simon is merriment!

Simon, there is some kind of magic in your hypnotic BLUE eyes and infectious smile.

There is not a person on this earth (or otherwise) who could resist falling in love with you.

Our world would be gray and lonely without you.
